“Praza de Abastos” - Santiago de Compostela Central Market
A series of paintings and explorations created after several trips back to Galicia in late 2022.
I have always been captivated by markets: the vibrant blend of people, colors, smells, and the delightful chaos that turns my head in every direction. However, since becoming aware of the suffering we inflict on animals, my experience of the market has profoundly changed. I now avoid the aisles filled with sea”food” and lifeless fish, and naturally, steer clear of those selling meat. My routine now leads me directly to the final aisles, where vegetables and fruits are sold. This area radiates vibrancy, brimming with natural creations and harmonious compositions, awash in color - teeming with life.
