“Praza de Abastos - Paseo de Outono”

A series of paintings and explorations made following several trips back to Galicia in late 2022.

I have always loved markets: the mix of people, colours, smells and chaos make my head turn in all directions. However, since I became aware of the suffering we inflict on animals, I experience the market in a different way. I avoid the aisles of sea”food” and lifeless fish, and I avoid, of course, the ones selling meat. It has become my routine to go directly to the final aisles, where vegetables and fruits are sold. It is a rather more vibrant area, full of natural creations and harmonious compositions, full of colour - full of life.
