Transitioning to a plant-based diet revealed a shift far deeper than dietary changes; it unraveled the social habits and traditions ingrained in my upbringing.

Hailing from Galicia, a region endowed with a vast Atlantic coastline, I was steeped in a culture that celebrated fresh fish and seafood. Octopuses, among other marine creatures, were heralded as our national delicacy, a source of regional pride.

However, I came to learn that octopuses are extraordinarily intelligent and sensitive beings. Possessing three hearts and a complex nervous system with nine brains, they experience pain, fear, and even dreams.

This series is a contemplative exploration of the social conventions instilled in us as we grow. It stands as a tribute to the magnificent marine creatures that deserve to thrive in their natural oceanic habitats, not on our plates.
