Having made the change to a plant based diet, I soon understood that my social habits would also have to change, especially coming from a culture in which social interactions predominantly happen around a dining table. Since then, people and celebrations around food have become a recurring motif in my work.

Mi piel se arruga como la corteza de los árboles.
Al igual que ellos, crezco cada vez más fuerte,
cada vez más unida
a la tierra que me sostiene.
My skin wrinkles like the tree bark.
Like the trees, I grow older, stronger,
each time more grounded
to the land that holds me.
